Messy books don’t mean you’re bad at business. It means you’ve been doing it all alone.

And honestly? That ends here. You deserve support you can count on—and a bookkeeper who actually gives a damn.

bookkeeping ledger

I’ve spent 19 years turning chaos into clarity for small business owners just like you. No shame, no jargon—just solid systems, straight answers, and support that actually sticks. If you’re ready to stop flying blind and start feeling on top of things, I’m your person.

You can build a thriving business—without crying over your books at midnight.

You don’t need to figure it all out on your own. You just need someone who actually likes this stuff. (hi – that’s me!)

If you’ve ever shoved receipts in a drawer and promised Future You would “deal with it later,” — Hi. I see you. And you’re not alone.

You’ve been holding your business together with coffee, late nights, and vibes—maybe a spreadsheet that makes your eye twitch. You want to grow, but the numbers side? It feels like a black hole of stress and second-guessing.

That’s where I come in.

I’m Amy—bookkeeper, tax preparer, and accidental therapist for overwhelmed small business owners. I help you turn that pile of chaos into clean, accurate books without the shame spiral.

With nearly 20 years of experience and a soft spot for the self-employed, I keep things simple, supportive, and judgment-free. My job is to make your finances make sense—so you can make better decisions, stay out of trouble with the CRA, and maybe even enjoy tax season for once. (Okay, maybe “enjoy” is a stretch… but you will feel more in control.)

At Maple & Main Co., we’re not about fluff or fear tactics. Just solid support, calm systems, and a whole lot of “oh thank goodness someone’s handling this.”

Let’s take a stroll down main…

19

years of bookkeeping + tax experience

740+

tax returns filed last season (yes, really)

17 chickens

(but I swear I only have 12…)

There’s a difference between chicken math and business math, but only one has to make sense on paper.

I started doing books in high school and never really stopped

(turns out, I’m one of those weirdos who actually likes balancing things).

Over the years, I’ve worked with farms, makers, wellness pros, and folks who’d rather scoop manure than open QuickBooks—and honestly, I get it.

I live on an acreage in Central Alberta with my two kids, too many coffee mugs, and a dream of adding more chickens to the chaos. When I’m not wrangling spreadsheets, I’m canning something I grew (or meant to grow), chasing kids, or trying to drink a hot coffee before bedtime.

Maple & Main Co. is my way of helping good-hearted business owners feel less overwhelmed and more in control—without judgment, jargon, or any “should’ve known better” energy. Just clear books, kind support, and maybe the occasional goat story.

Here’s how we can work together

I keep things simple, judgment-free, and built for real life—whether you’re running a farm, a studio, or juggling it all between daycare drop-offs and dinner. My job is to bring clarity to your books (and maybe a little humour to your inbox).

Working with me looks like:

Deadlines met, details handled

✓ No shame if your books are a bit wild—I’ve seen worse

✓ Clear systems that don’t make your head spin

✓ Honest support (with a side of prairie sass)

Let’s cut to the chase

We’re probably a good fit if:

✓ You’re ready to hand it off and breathe easier

✓ You respect deadlines (or at least try to)

✓ You want real talk, not financial fluff

But we’re not going to fit if:

You ghost your bookkeeper until tax season

You treat receipts like optional (they’re not—we will talk about this)

Know what you can write off—without second-guessing.

Grab my free checklist made for Canadian small business owners who want to keep more of what they earn. It’s clear, quick, and full of “ohhh, I didn’t know I could claim that!” moments.

Bottom Line: You run the business. I’ll keep the books steady. And we’ll both sleep better at night.

Sound good?
